One of the strongest universal truths is that parenting is tough, and with life’s ever-increasing pace it is only getting tougher.

For over 20 years, Hand in Hand Parenting (handinhandparenting.org) has recognized this and dedicated itself to giving parents the practical tools and support they need to deliver love and guidance to their children to create warm relationships that will last a lifetime. Tanshi2a (tanshi2a.com), a community based Emirati social enterprise, is proud to now partner with Hand in Hand to bring its Parenting by Connection seminar and workshop to the UAE in January 2018. This will be the first time that the group will present in the Middle East.

The Parenting by Connection program is based on 5 tools detailed in a book written by Hand in Hand’s founder called Listen. These tools were developed based on 30 years of helping families tackle everyday challenges in a gentle yet effective manner. UAE parents can learn more about them during two events: a 4 hour seminar or a 3 day hands on workshop.

Parenting by Connection Seminar: January 21, 2018 from 9 AM – 1 PM at Nassima Tower, Sheikh Zayed Road

In this four hour seminar, participants will be introduced to the 5 tools by a certified international Hand in Hand trainer Zsuzsanna Egry who will guide them on how they can be applied in daily life. Ms. Egry has conducted seminars all over Europe, and her objective for the session is that each attendee leaves feeling empowered with practical tactics they can begin using immediately to manage the family’s daily challenges.

Parenting by Connection Workshop: January 22 – 24, 2018 at Just Be, Jumeirah

This three-day workshop is an intimate deep dive into the five tools. As there are limited participants, each attendee will have the chance to work closely with Hand in Hand’s international expert Zsuzsanna Egry to fully understand how to apply the tools to solve his or her family’s personal challenges.

Over the three days, you will get new insights about

• how the human brain works
• how emotions impact your child’s brain
• two fundamental, but mostly neglected basic human needs

You will also learn how to

• build a warm, safe, and lasting connection with your child
• work with your child’s emotions, instead of against them
• help your child with big emotional upheavals, such as tantrums and crying
• deal with your own emotional upheavals to foster more patience
• harness the power of laughter to help your child build confidence and use play as a conscious parenting tool
• set firm, effective limits with warmth and love, without rewards or punishments
• build the support and the community everyone needs to raise happy families
